Biografía

Pasión por la música desde 1980

Björn Bus nació en 1980 en Brunssum, en la parte sur de los Países Bajos, donde se encuentran sus raíces musicales. Comenzó como percusionista con la Harmonie Orkest Concordia Treebeek, antes de dedicarse más tarde al trombón.

En 2004, Björn Bus completó su licenciatura en dirección con honores con Alex Schillings en la Musikhochschule de Groningen. El mismo año, se dedicó a sus estudios como trombonista con Harrie Ries en el conservatorio de música de Maastricht. Durante 2005 y 2006 estudió trombón barroco con Wim Becu en la Musikhochschule de Aquisgrán. Su maestría en dirección de orquesta, también con matrícula de honor, la completó en 2011 con el director de orquesta de renombre internacional Jan Cober en el conservatorio de Maastricht.

Sin embargo, la educación de Björn Bus no terminó aquí. Asistió a un gran número de clases magistrales de dirección, trabajando con personalidades reconocidas.

Su talento pronto comenzó a hacerse notar y su participación en reconocidos concursos de dirección le valió un reconocimiento adicional. En 2005, obtuvo el segundo lugar en la competencia EBBA (European Brass Band Association) en Groningen.

En el WMC (World Music Contest) en Kerkrade en 2009, ganó la batuta de bronce, trabajando junto con la Marine Band de la Marina Real de los Países Bajos.
Actualmente Björn Bus dirige las siguientes orquestas: Orchestra of the Dutch Customs, State Symphonic Wind Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg, Symphonic Wind Orchestra St. Joseph Sittard y Symphonic Wind Orchestra St. Jozef Kaalheide – Kerkrade.

También es miembro de la Junta Directiva de WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles).

Björn Bus trabaja a menudo con conocidas bandas nacionales e internacionales. Es un codiciado director invitado de la Banda del Ejército Real de los Países Bajos ‘Johan Willem Friso’, la Banda Municipal de Barcelona, la Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig y la Banda Sinfónica de Viento del Conservatorio de Maastricht.

Participa activamente en la realización de clases magistrales y talleres, y con frecuencia es invitado a actuar como juez en varios concursos.

Biography

Passion for music since 1980

Björn Bus, was born in 1980 in Brunssum, in the southern part of the Netherlands, where his musical roots can be found. He began as a percussionist with the Harmonie Orkest Concordia Treebeek, before later taking up the trombone.

In 2004, Björn Bus completed his bachelor´s degree in conducting with honors with Alex Schillings at the Musikhochschule in Groningen. The same year, he devoted himself to his studies as a trombonist with Harrie Ries at the music conservatory in Maastricht. During 2005 and 2006, he studied baroque trombone with Wim Becu at the Musikhochschule in Aachen. His master´s degree in conducting, likewise with honors, was completed in 2011 with the internationally-renowned conductor Jan Cober at the conservatory in Maastricht.

However Björn Bus´ education did not end here. He attended a great many master classes in conducting, working with well-known personalities.

His talent soon began to be noticed, and his participation in well-known conducting competitions brought him additional recognition. In 2005, he placed second at the EBBA (European Brass Band Association) competition in Groningen.

At the WMC (World Music Contest) in Kerkrade in 2009, he won the bronze baton, working together with the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy.

Currently Björn Bus conducts the following orchestras: Orchestra of the Dutch Customs, State Symphonic Wind Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg, Symphonic Wind Orchestra St. Joseph Sittard and Symphonic Wind Orchestra St. Jozef Kaalheide – Kerkrade.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles).

Björn Bus often works together with well-known national and international bands. He is a sought-after guest conductor with the Royal Netherlands Army Band  ‘Johan Willem Friso’, Banda Municipal Barcelona, Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig and the Symphonic Wind Band of the Conservatorium in Maastricht.

He is actively involved in conducting master classes and workshops, and is frequently invited to act as an adjudicator in various competitions
